There is no shortage of patriotic spirit in Moore County!  Lots of fun family festivities are planned in our communities to celebrate Independence Day and remind us how truly fortunate we are to live in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

  • Pinehurst Fourthfest Concert & Fireworks 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., Pinehurst Harness Track:  Enjoy fireworks and a free concert featuring “Bantum Roosters” performing a blend of classic rock, beach, funk, dance mix & top 40 hits.  Plenty of children’s activities including a video game trailer, pony rides, bounce houses & more.  Food & beverages will be available for purchase or bring a picnic basket.  Don’t forget to bring a chair or blanket.  Gates open at 4:00 p.m. for parking.  Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.  Pinehurst Harness Track, 200 Beulah Hill Road.

  • Pinehurst Fourthfest Parade in the Village 10:00 a.m. – Noon, James W. Tufts Memorial Park:  Annual Independence Day parade.  Food, fun, and the annual Patriotic Pet Contest will follow on the Village Green.  Local fruits & vegetables will be on sale from the Sandhills Farmers Market.  , James W. Tufts Memorial Park, 1 Village Green Road, Downtown Pinehurst Village.
  • Carthage Fourth of July Parade 11:00 a.m. – Noon, Downtown Carthage:  The parade begins near Hardees restaurant and continues down NC Highway 24/27 to the Courthouse circle.  Afterwards stop by one of the local restaurants for lunch.  Monroe Street, Downtown Carthage.
  • Aberdeen 4th of July Block Party 2:00 p.m., Downtown Aberdeen:  Bring your own chair and enjoy food trucks, live music by Mark McKinney Trio, kids games, face painting, lawn games, & giveaways.
  • “A New Nation” Concert by the Moore County Concert Band 2:00 p.m., Carolina Hotel Grand Ballroom:  The program will begin with traditional English folk tunes and transition to uniquely American songs & marches.  During the playing of service songs from each branch of the Armed Forces, veterans & current service members will be asked to stand and be recognized.  Free to the public.  Grand Ballroom, Carolina Hotel, 80 Carolina Vista Drive, Pinehurst.
  • Aberdeen July 4th Celebration 5:00 – 9:30 p.m., Aberdeen Lake Park:  Enjoy an evening of live entertainment, food vendors, and activities for all ages.  $5.00 wristbands can be purchased for children for unlimited access to a rock climbing wall, inflatable slide, bounce houses, obstacle course, and more.  Kids activities start at 5:00 p.m.  Live entertainment starts at 6:00 p.m.  Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.  Aberdeen Lake Park, 301 Lake Park Crossing.
  • “Salute to Military” Special Trivia 7:00 p.m., Kickback Jack’s, 10745 US Highway 15-501, Southern Pines.

Fort Bragg 4th of July Celebration  3:00 – 10:00 p.m., Main Post Parade Field, Fort Bragg

The Fort Bragg Army base hosts an annual celebration like no other.  Activities include live concerts, parachute free-fall demonstrations, flag ceremony, kids activities, food & beverages, and fireworks.  This year’s concerts feature country star Trace Adkins and special guest artist Walker McGuire.  The 82d Division All American Rock Band is also scheduled to perform.  Free to the public.  Gates open at 1:00 p.m., and the activities begin at 3:00 p.m.
