FirstHealth Awarded United Way Spirit Award
FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nonprofit health care network that serves Moore County and 14 other counties in North Carolina. With 4 hospitals and a multitude of facilities ranging from clinics to home health to dental centers, the FirstHealth medical community is known for providing an excellent quality of care to all of its patients. Recently, it has also been recognized for its employees’ dedication to improving their community.
For the 6th year in a row, FirstHealth has won the United Way of North Carolina Spirit Award, which recognizes FirstHealth’s exceptional United Way fundraising campaign and its commitment to the community.
The 2015 employee campaign was FirstHealth’s best yet: its pledge total surpassed $200,000, it had an average pledge of over $92 per participant, and 13 employees pledged $1,000 or more.
The money raised through the campaign will help support United Ways community programs such as the Montgomery County Crisis Fund and the Hoke United Fund. The mission of United Way of Moore County is “to make a measurable impact on the quality of life in the community by addressing […] essential human service issues,” and FirstHealth’s fundraising efforts will contribute to these efforts.
FirstHealth facilities have won prestigious awards related to patient care, program quality, high value, and much more.
Receiving the United Way Spirit Award yet again, though, demonstrates that FirstHealth’s providers go above and beyond providing exceptional care; these individuals are truly dedicated to bettering their communities, and they want to support other organizations, like United Way, that are working to do this.
