FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital was recently named a Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
The distinction recognizes Moore Regional and its Reid Heart Center as having higher quality care, better patient outcomes, and increased cost efficiency in comparison to other facilities. Blue Distinction Center+ facilities must meet certain surgical result requirements and also be a nationally accredited facility, in addition to providing services at a better value than other programs.
Moore Regional is one of only 10 North Carolina facilities to receive this prestigious designation, and it recognizes Moore Regional’s tireless dedication to both its patients and to delivering exceptionally high quality care.
Heart health, in particular, is becoming a more and more pressing issue in the United States; by 2030, it is estimated that over 40% of Americans will have some type of cardiovascular disease. In designating certain facilities as Blue Distinction Center+ facilities, Blue Cross and Blue Shield hopes to address this issue by helping patients seek out high quality, high value care for their hearts.
